Co-op Semester 3:

o        Six Sigma Greenbelt Candidate:  Acting as head Engineer to install a better, faster way to ship Ceramic Brake Pads as customer demand required.  I was in charge of the layout of new machinery, ensuring the new machinery kept up with demand, and being the lead on keeping installation on schedule.  Overall annual savings due to faster machinery and head reduction totaled to $140,000 and the ability to increase sales 15-20%.

o       Maintained various equipment including presses, cure ovens, bonders, stenciling machines, riveters, grinders, skin wrap machines, glue application machines, powder paint lines, rotoblast machines, and mixers

Co-op Semester 2

o        Lean Implementation:  Worked along side a Lean Expert to help implement Lean principles into the “bottleneck” of the plant.  Some techniques used include:  KanBans, ShadowBoards (5S), buy-in from operators, and visual factory.  Total savings of the project totaled to $60,000 and increased capacity into what once was the slowest process.

o        Process engineer over hardware area and machinery.

Co-op Semester 1:  

o        Created standard operating procedures and work instructions for current and new equipment

o        Created drawings of machine components and also maintained/updated plant layout drawings. Designed and fabricated machine components. Fabrication methods included milling, lathing, welding, and general metal working (drilling, tapping, etc.)
